Everything that we interact with on a daily basis is technology. The computer I am using to type this blog post is technology. It surrounds us, and no matter what you do, you cannot get away from it. Technology matters because we would hardly have anything we have now without advances in technology. It makes our lives easier in many ways. Technology also helps us to further our own knowledge in many ways. In astronomy we use telescopes to see things never seen before to help us understand more about the universe. None of this would be possible without the advances we have made in technology. Efficiency is another big role that technology plays in our lives as well as the world as a whole. We can do much more much faster now. Computers and the Internet make gathering and producing as well as researching information almost instantaneous. Technology is increasingly getting faster, more efficient, more qualitative, and much more inexpensive as new advancements come. New technology helps us produce things in industry quicker and better than previously. Before Henry Ford came up with the idea of an assembly line, things were produced one at a time. The new assembly line made it so that one person made one modification and sent it to the next person, who then made another modification, and so on until the product was done, and by that point the next product was ready for the next piece until it was also finished. These ideas and many others from great thinkers make technology continue to excel and grow exponentially. Technology is what shapes this country and the world. - Cynthia Massey

This is completely on point. Everything you said is exactly what is happening in the world today. I mean the average person spends fourteen hours on the internet per week. Its also true that we now have the technology to make newer and better things in the economy for jobs and everyday life.
ReplyDeleteI agree and disagree that technology matters. I believe that yes cell phones matter because they can make important phone calls, such as 9-1-1, and keep people in contact wuth one another. Although the internet is useful, it is not entirely important because we can get the same information on the television or in newspapers and books. Some technology does matter, but not all. Someday in the future all technology may matter because that may be all we have.
ReplyDeleteI agree that technology matters. We use technology everyday. We communicate using technology. In case of an emergemcy we can call for help. Computers, phones, and televison are our main technology streams. All of our technology sources are reliable and help us each and every day. We use computers to type papers, read news, and even blog about things. Our phones help us keep in touch with people around us and even in other countries and states. Television helps us have a wide variety of entertainment. Without technology we would be lost today.
ReplyDeleteI agree that technology matters. The many technological advances over the years have made it easier to treat diseases, solve crimes, and keep in touch with family and friends. Technology has greatly improved our lives. However, I believe that we are increasingly becoming too dependent on technology. Many people, hospitals, and schools keep records on computers. While this does simplify things and takes up less space than files, technology can fail and all of the records can be lost. Imagine what this world would be like if we woke up tomorrow and all technology had stopped working. Would we be able to function? I am not anti-technology, but I am concerned with how much our lives depend on technology.
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more. It is interesting to realize how dependent people are to technology. It makes work efficient, fast, and accessible. On the other hand, our lives revolve around technology. For instance, little kids cannot be entertained unless they are on their dad's ipad or mom's cell phone.
ReplyDeleteI agree technology matters. Many people in the United States use technology constantly throughout every day. It keeps people in touch, it saves lives, and it is a matter of convenience. Technology may be over used and there is cause for concern when five year olds ask for cell phones for Christmas. However, the quality of life in general is enhanced by the use of technology.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Ever since the beginning of the human race, technological breakthroughs and inventions have pushed us forward and made life easier. However, we must be careful and make sure that we can still operate without all of these advancements. For example, a solar flare could knock out all of our electricity. We need a fallback plan for situations like these
ReplyDeleteTechnology is the main thing that has advanced the human race to where it is today. It has helped us do miracules things and achieve amazing accomplishments. Technology is our evolution into higher forms of knowledge and our gateway to knew worlds. Technology matters to the advancement of our world and the human race.
